| Hi,
Re: Photoshop Album - Ver.2 - Platform Windows - Registration on
Mar12,2004 - Serial# 1078-1209-1135-4755-2651-2090
My Computer:- MS XP Home Edition/Memory Ram 512MBLocal Disk 57GB,used 40GB/Procssor AMD Athlon(TM)XP2600/Printer Epson color670/Epson Scanner perfection 610.
I sent an email to support and they guided me to user to user forum. I have paste it below. It may not be precise this is the first time user of the forum.
I would appreciate advice regarding a fault that has come up when in the
above Photoshop program, I tried to transfer from Epson Perfection610 scanner a
printed sheet and place it into a catalog album; it faulted >get
photo>Scanner - flashed up 'Device error has occurred.Check connection &
batteries.Checked OK.
Feeling that the scanner software may have become corrupted, I started to
download scanner software and it informed; my Windows XP home software will
go faulty. I checked with Epson e-service support technician they said
that my present cd was for Windows 98 that they had an upgrade 'scanner
Assist 8.10, which I purchased. Downloaded and the scanner operated ok with
their set-up. I then opened Adobe Photo Album - it faulted [ as mentioned
above]. Does it mean that with the photo album software was downloaded when
operating Win98 does not fit Win XP? Do I need an Adobe upgrade software to
work with XP.Photoshop is super it fills all my need, I hope some one can
advice/help.
Thanks for your attention.

| I have no clue as to the answer to your problem, but I do know that Album 2 does not run on Windows 98 (I would love to put it on my 98 machine--soon to be upgraded to XP. I run it on XP home. I think it requires ME or 2000.
Have you tried using the scanner software to scan, then using "Get from files and folders" to get the scan into Album? That is my usual approach.

| Louis,
First, have you reviewed the PREFERENCES (select EDIT | PREFERENCES | SCANNER) to ensure that the Photoshop Album software has set the correct WinXP software driver? You may have more than one version installed (both Win98 and WinXP) and it may be default
ed to the incorrect version.
However, I'm surprised that you were required to purchase software from Epson, as all you needed was the Windows XP TWAIN Driver v5.71A (Rev.F) for your particular model, which is a free download from the Epson Driver Downloads site.
Keep us posted.

Walt

| Walt,
Thank you kindly for your reply to my query, very much appreciated. Followed your lead too the answer for my problem. I now know where I went wrong. My main fault is that I did not study running Photoshop in any depth. Just went for what I needed to know.
I am lucky that there is the ‘user to user forums’. It takes all my time to keep ahead with my main interest CAD & 3D projection.
So once again Thanks. Take care
Best Regards,
Louis
and also thanks to:-
Carin Sue,
Your suggestion of 'scanners software to scan' I will try. Walt Bobrowski's suggestion seems to answer my problem. Thanks a million for your reply.
Best Regards,
Louis
