I am using a USB card reader to import photos into Photoshop Album 2 from an SD card. This works well as long as I import all of the photos on the SD card. However, I want to import only a few selected photos from that card. How can I do that (I use Win X
P SP2)?

I select “Preferences” from the PSA Edit menu and then select “Camera or Card Reader”. The Preferences dialog box appears and it includes an option that is checked to “Import All Photos”. The help document says that I can import only selected photos if I
deselect that option. However, that option is “greyed out” so that I cannot deselect it. Why can’t I deselect?

Thank You

With PSA 2, you have no choice but to import all th eimages from the card. Your only other option is to move the files using Windows Explorer and then import from the folder to which you moved them.

This was changed in PSE 3 Organizer, which permits you to pick and choose. When I saw this first, I could not think why this might be done. I have since heard of people with multiple catalogs for home/work photos and a mixture of pics on the card. I'm cur
ious - why do you want to do this?

Colin - Thanks for your answer. Notice that (1) I can import photos directly from my wife's Nikon 5200 digital camera which contains an SD card or (2) I can place the SD card in a card reader and import from that. In either case I use a USB cable connecti
on. If I use choice number 1 in PSA 2, I can pick and choose the photos to be imported. But if I use choice number 2, I apparently cannot pick and choose - I must import all photos on the card. That seems strange.

Why do I want to import only selected photos? I have 2 examples: (a) This weekend, I wanted a copy of a photo on my sister's camera. She had 161 photos on her card. I put her card in my multi-card reader and had to import 161 pictures and then erase the 1
60 that I did not want. Also, (b) I had transferred many of my wife's photos from her card to my computer and then printed some. She did not erase those from her card (wanted to show them to friends by using the display on her camera) and then she added m
ore pictures to her card. Now I want to import only those pictures which were not imported earlier.
