Hi All,

I've created an AEP file using just one composition. I need to do the following:

01. Loop the movie so that it runs continously.

02. Need to know what is the best file format to render the composition knowing that it will be played on a widescreen TV via a DVD player?

Your help is much appreciated!!!

1) You could either render/reimport your movie (or "prerender" it), or precomp it. For footage, you can use ctrl-f (in proj window) on the footage, and specify the amount of times to loop it.

For precomp, you could timeremap it. Make sure your last keyframe before the repeat is a HOLD, so you don't have field problems. You could apply an expression to loop it, but I find it just as easy to copy the timeremap keyframes and copy/paste them.

Is there an option in after effects that will allow me to loop the comp i've created?

Also, what is the appropriate file format to render if this is going to be played through a DVD player and 58" TV

If you want the DVD to loop you either set that in your DVD authoring program or you just use the DVD remote to set the player to loop.

If your in PAL land use either the PAL D1/DV or the PAL D1/DV Widescreen presets for your comp. If NTSC, use the NTSC DV or NTSC DV Widescreen preset or the NTSC D1 or NTSC D1 Widescreen preset. I'm assuming you're wanting to fill the screen and most new
big tv's are wide screen, so use a widescreen preset. Just don't use a square pixel preset for your final render.

Then render out to either a losless, like QuickTime Animation set to best, or if you're tight on drive space, a DV codec, drop that movie in a DVD authroing program and encode your video to MPEG 2. Then burn a DVD.

If you want to just render out a movie and loop it in After Effects type the number of loops you want in the Interpret Footage window you'll find under File>Interpret Footage.
