| hi guys! am from austria in europe and i hope somebody of u can help me.
want to buy a new PC for my work with after effcts 6.5/7.
so, is there anyone who can tell me, which motherboard and CPU , how much of RAM is really recommended, which harddisk and so on, would be the best for a serious work with after effects.
also, which system is better for after effects, 32 or 64-bit version? Any experiences?
hope there is anyone outside of my room who can help me! thanx a lot!

It depends on what your budget is, what you are trying to produce, and what delivery format you need. Are you doing stuff for TV or HDTV?
For CPU, I'd go with Intel Core2 Duo. I personally like Intel better than AMD. As for 64bit, check out the thread further down the list. He's got some comparison stats with Nucleo. For HD, look into SATA, in a RAID if you can afford it. For RAM, 32bit app
s limit your RAM to 2gig (or 3gig if you use the /3gig switch - do a forum search for more info on that).
Make sure to get a video card that is fully supported by AE (check out the compatibility specs on the After Effects product page). If possible, I'd wait till after Vista comes out.
