Author just not getting it...how do I stop the SCRIBBLE effect?

I have looked and read some tutorials on how to use the SCRIBBLE effect...
Here are my questions...

HOW DO I STOP it? I can start it but it won't stop until the end of the timeline is reached.

How do I set the controls to START reveal the left-side of an object...making more and more of it appear as it sweeps to the right...in the end the whole item is revealed and it stops scribbling revealing the object in it's complete state.

Thanks, --bill

DIDGI...thanks so much...now wanna try something else...I have been trying to figure out what controls to set to what...here we go

I have an object...

I want it to become visible as the SCRIBBLE effect starts at the left moving to the right (as a narrow ban of scribble)...as the ban moves from left to right the image becomes more and more visible and stays visible...when the scibble gets to the complete
right...the image is there and SCRIBBLE is off/gone.

Does that make sense?

Thanks!!!
