After Effects 7.0 Pro - Crashes when importing

Hey everyone!

I'm new to After Effects and more than stoked to use it...however, it
took me a week to work all the bugs out getting it installed - now I
have it running - but everytime I hit the import button- I get a
message - AE has crashed - any ideas? I could really use the help.
Oh, my OS is Windows XP.
