| I'm new to using this feature in AE......If I were doing a simple falling snow effect, is there a way to control the speed, slow it down to look more natural?

| You need to use a layer map, and set it to control Friction. To get a natural drifting motion you will also need a layer map with some fractal noise either pre-composed or pre-rendered on it to control horizontal motion.
But be warned, getting Particle Playground to do things that are quite simple in other particle systems can feel like a herculean act. Have you tried using CC Snow, which is included with AE 7? Or, if you will ever have any need for particle effects ever
again in the future, Trapcode Particular <http://www.trapcode.com/products_particular.html> is well worth the price and has an outstanding Snow preset <http://www.trapcode.com/help/partic...ex_presets.html> (click the "Natural" category) that you can
actually fly the 3D camera through and which is infinitely customizable. Anyway, the demo is fully functional with a watermark if you want to give it a try. And I'm not one who recommends $300 plugins willy-nilly; it's that good, and that useful.

| Hey Aaron, do you know of any preset libraries for Particular?

| I actually don't know of a much in the way of preset libraries (I'm kind of a stubborn "I'll build it myself" sort of person) but this site <http://voir.mylenium.de/creation/te...cular_free.html>, which I believe someone else poste
d on this forum not long ago, has some interesting examples.
