| I have a quick question or well would like a second opinion..i've see alot of video peices done where images or video footage is syncronized with the beat of a song. I've used the technique of bringing the song into premiere and final cut and color coordi
nating specific beats as reference, saving it as a quicktime, then importing it into AE for use of reference for image elements/footage and music sync..Is there other techniques out there that is a shorter process and well i'm interested basically on othe
r techniques in doing this...heres some examples of what i mean.

| Chris,
I usually hit ll and use the audio waveform, if you crank up the levels you can see it better. There is an effect that will turn the waveform into spatial keyframes, but I can't remember which, but there's also Soundkeys from Trapcode that will allow you
to make separate keyframes from the entire range of your audio spectrum. Very handy. But if you're just syncing to the beat and you have a sense of rhythm, the waveform is usually fine.

| "is an effect that will turn the waveform into spatial keyframes"
KeyframeAsst/Convert audio to keyframes (or something like that).
Then you can link to those keyframes via expressions.
