Author 3D effect and the "extended canvas"

I am new to After Effects and I have tried various things but it doesn't seeme to work.

I have a 2d logo, and I have added some 3d strokes to the background to give it some depth. I would like to have the camera rotate so that is pans around the logo 360 degrees. I have tried doing this with a camera but for whatever reason it doesn't work.

does anyone have any advice on this?

furthermore, what is the technique used, when it seems like the canvas is never ending. it just seems to to seemlessy flow from scene to scene regardless of depth etc.

thanks!

Parent the camera to a node and then roate the node.

Not sure what you mean on the canvas thing.

What do you mean by 3d strokes on the background? If you have a 2d image with shading to look 3D, it will still be 2d when you rotate a camera around it.

By "node" you mean "null", right Navarro?
