How do I save a PhotoDraw picture in JPEG format?

I likewise had this frustrating problem that PhotoDraw
(and several other Office-related applications) could not
read or write JPG, GIF and other file formats. I have
found the solution to this issue. It has to do with the
fact that the WinBlows registry keys for graphic filters
are sometimes (?) not properly updated when installing
Office.

STEP 1 - VERIFY NECESSARY FILES

First, we have to have the Graphic Filters for Office,
noteably:
GIFIMP32.FLT
JPEGIM32.FLT
Both of these files should be in this directory:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Common Files\Microsoft\Shared\GRPHFLT\

Open the above directory with WindowsExplorer or other
tool to verify existance of these files. If they exist,
proceed to STEP 4 - FIX THE REGISTRY

STEP 2 - INSTALL THE OFFICE FILTER FILES

If you do not see these files in this directory (or if
you want to make sure that ALL graphic filters have been
installed), then do the following:

Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs
Select Microsoft Office
Select <CHANGE> (winxp) or <Add/Change> (win2k)
Add/Remove Features
Office Shared Features
Converters and Filters
Graphic Filters

Ensure that the filters for the filetypes you want have
been installed. If not, install them, then look again in
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Common Files\Microsoft\Shared\GRPHFLT\
for these files. If they're not there, stop; I cannot
help with this problem.

STEP 3 - TRY OPEN AFTER INSTALLING FILTERS

If the filter files are in the ...\GRPHFLT directory,
then try opening the files again with PhotoDraw or other
MS program. If still not working, the solution follows:

STEP 4 - FIX THE REGISTRY

(Note 1: You should back up the following registry keys
before continuing):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\Graphics Filters]

(Note 2: This fix assumes that all Office Graphic filters
have been installed. You can go back to step 2 to ensure
that all Graphic filters have been installed)

Right click the following link, and SAVE (not Open) the
file to a location you can find (for example, C:\)
http://www.lovelady.com/unixsrc/GRAPHFIX.REG

Now, START / RUN / REGEDIT.EXE

From the Registry Editor window, select File, then Import

Point to the .REG file (in our case, C:\GRAPHFIX.REG)
that you just saved, and select OPEN. The keys and values
will be copied into the registry. You should now be able
to open these files with Office-Related applications,
etc.

Picking a nit:

"From the Registry Editor window, select File, then Import. Point to the
..REG file (in our case, C:\GRAPHFIX.REG) that you just saved, and select
OPEN."

This can be shortened to "Double click on C:\GRAPHIX.REG." The keys and
values will be copied into the registry.
