Can anybody help please?

I have a digital camera and a Dell Latitude C600 (work
supplied) with Windows 2000 installed. My question is
this, if I was to purchase a xd picture card reader with a
USB port, do I require additional software other than
whats installed on the laptop to view the stored pictures.
I have been told that a USB driven tool opens a new drive
on explorer? maybe an F drive?

gratful of any assistance

I can help only a little bit

The card reader will not *create* a new drive. Windows will *recognize* it
as a drive. Example: If you plug it in, and the next available drive letter
is F:, you will see the card reader as drive F:. Its pictures will show as
file names and you can open them, copy them, etc.

PhotoDraw is old technology (c. 1998-1999). I don't know if it can support
USB devices or card readers.
