Author Colour Matching

Hello

I've been using PhotoDraw 2000 version 2 to try to do a colour match between
two objects. I've tried using the "print screen" key to copy and paste into
PhotoDraw a graphic and then what I do is make the background in photodraw
the same colour as the graphic by using the colour picker tool. Then I view
the result as a web page and I copy the hex value of the background and put
that in as a value, in a third program, to make another object the same
colour.

I can't seem to get an exact match. Is there a better way of doing this?

Thanks
