Author Photo Draw Animated GIF Problem

I am trying to get one line of text to scroll across the top of a page I
first designed in PD, saved and then inserted into Front Page 2000.
Everything works fine, but a portion of the text stops at the left side of
the page and will not disappear (like I want it to). It just stops and then
sits there even though I set it to loop one time. Please tell me what to do.
Thank you.

Use a scrolling marquee in FrontPage.

Walter, thank-you for your reply. However, the Front Page scrolling marquee
only seems to work in Internet Explorer.

It doesn't work in Netscape according to my testing and I have been told it
won't work in some, if not all, of the other browsers.

Isn't there some way to get the animated gif inserted properly?

Give up on the other < 5% of browsers and use a FP scrolling marquee.

Bill is this basically what you want?
http://frontpagesolutions.com/test/pdanimate.htm

If so the problem is not with FrontPage but the gif you've designed in
PhotoDraw. I'll give you a quick rundown on what things you need to
address. I can't give you exact numbers because each project wil have
different requirements so you'll need to play around.

The 1st thing you need to pay attention to is the preview in browser button
in the "Adjust Settings Window". This is the window that has Duration,
Playback Speed and Loop choices. Use this and keep using it untill you get
it right.

Now that we got that over with the 1st thing you want to do is when you
insert your text insert 10 spaces before the text and 5 spaces after the
text while in the text editing window. This will give you 5 spaces for your
text to enter and the same idea for exit.

Important Note: Make sure the text object including blank spaces is not
larger than the actual banner or the text won't animate.

Now in the "Adjust Settings Window", make sure Loop 1 time is checked and
then preview your animation the default is 7fps which in my mind is to fast
for folks to read. Adjust the speed setting 1st untill you find a speed
that looks good. My example is 3fps.

Once you have the speed the way you like it start increasing the Duration
untill the whole text object scrolls to the left or right. Keep adjusting
it up a little at a time and then previewing to check. I had to increase
my duration for this one to 5 seconds.

Now that we got that out of the way I do agree with Walter. Find a script
on the net for a marquee or worst case scenario use FrontPage's marquee and
don't worry that only 10% of the world won't see it scroll. They'll still
see the text just won't see it scroll.

Bill, I think your example is good. Now that I have your explanation I'll
play around with it and see if I can do as well.

Why do you say to find a script on the Web when I can make the gif in Photo
Draw though?
