I need PhotoDraw 2000 or a program like it
|
|
|
| I used PhotoDraw 2000 in college a few years ago and have
grown to love it. Not too long ago, I found out it was
discontinued. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can
still buy a copy of PhotoDraw 2000 or if anyone knows of
a program that is similar to it (I need it to create my
web page banners, modify images, etc.) If someone can
get back to me on this, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

IMO, no company, including MS has created a program as nice, easy and as
intuitive. I love PhotoDraw to no end!
Check out eBay. It appears that they are in high demand:

| I guess I should mention that I live in Canada and that=20
most of the auctions I saw will only ship to the US.

| Well, if you aren't willing to negotiate with a seller to ship to the
impossibly far wilds called "Canada," (Where is it anyway? Do they have
postal service? I am sure no seller has ever shipped anything that far) you
could always look at Real-Draw Pro, $50, www.mediachance.com, which is much
like PhotoDraw and even superior in some ways.
Many of us use RDP and you could get support on it in this newsgroup and
from other resources you could learn about in this group.
Good luck.

| Hi Brian,
How did you create such a cool URL to search e-Bay? Did you hand code it, or
what?

| No, Brian. It wasn't. I have no idea how to make such a complicated URL.
Merry Christmas!

| I actually like Image Composer better than PhotoDraw
because of its simplicity. Unfortunately, I'm having
problems with Image Composer, where whenever I open the
Color Tuning controls it freezes. Its the same on more than
one computer, I tried reinstalling, and I even tried
installing trial versions which have the same problem. Its
strange. If anyone can help please respond, I posted this
on the Image Composer newsgroup but I doubt anyone monitors
it anymore.

| People do still monitor the IC ng. I'm one of them.
A good replacement for both IC and PhotoDraw is Real-Draw Pro, $50,
www.mediachance.com. It's intuitive and has many of the same features and
concepts as PD and IC. It also can do more in some areas, notably styles,
lighting, and metals, than PD and IC can. I highly recommend it.
