Author Captions

I am using Microsoft Photo Editor 3.01. Is there a way to
add a caption to the photo?

How does Photodraw differ from Photo Editor? Is there
anything that Photo Editor can do that Photodraw cannot?

Hi JayBee,

1. I know of no way to add captions to images in PhotoEditor. You might try
Kodak Imaging (comes with Windows) for that.

2. I know of nothing PhotoEditor can do that PhotoDraw cannot do. Quite the
contrary: PhotoDraw is a powerful image editing and graphics creation
program (comes on three CDs); PhotoEditor is a small freebie that comes with
Microsoft Office.

Bill:

Wanted to let you know I just found your new site. Excellent work! Keep it
up.

But please, please quit saying those awful things about PhotoDraw. It took
me three years to learn how to use it along with FrontPage...if either of
those two "break" so will I!

Bill,

Do you mean "work" as in "do useful work"?

Or do you mean "work" as in "not break"?

PhotoEd actually has one trick that PhotoDraw doesn't: PhotoEd can adjust
gamma. But no one knows what gamma is, anyway, and I'm not talking.

Gary:

Just kidding. Actually I have no problems with PhotoDraw and XP so I really
can't help those out who do.

Which Site? RealDraw Cafe or FrontPage Solutions. With the holidays and
life in general they'll move slow for the next month.

I think you have FrontPage Solutions off to a great start. I like the look
of it and you have a lot of solid, at least for me, information on it.

As you said, so many people are just trying to sell one thing or another it
becomes a waste of time trying to find a quality site with "real
information" instead of hype. I'm in the process of reading your Rollover
Tutorial now.

I was kidding you about those "awful things" regarding PD. I think all of us
get frustrated with the various software programs we come across and want
various things for our own agendas. The companies that design/sell them have
to make them fit as many folks as possible and that's the trade off for all
of us non-programmers. Please keep up the good work!

Gary:

I advise you to pay attention my my Cascading Style Sheets tutorials on that
site. There will be some rollover tutorials that are amazingly easy and
very low in bandwidth size coming shortly. I'm going, I feel in a real
simple, easy to understand way so far with them in hopes they shouldn't
intimidate anyone who is not familiar with CSS. Everything for thge time
being will involve no or only one tiny line of code depending on which
version you are using.

Are you clairvoyant? After the rollovers CSS is what I want to learn as much
about as I can. I didn't even know that rollovers could be generated using
CSS.

Remember what I said about all the hype on the various FP
"help" sites? I think you can double or triple all that "help" (sales
pitches) when you land on a CSS help site.

I hope you'll put some emphasis on seperating fact from fiction
regarding the areas where CSS can be helpful to
someone using FP 2003. I have read that FP 2003 beefed up some of its CSS
capabilities but am not clear on what. I am doubtful that TopStyle or any of
the other CSS editors are needed by anyone that builds sites under 20 pages.
